Women's Reservation bill

Ok so much happening over the Women's Reservation bill so I thought I will put my thoughts as well.
As per my ideology I am against all sorts of reservation based on Caste, Creed, Religion and gender. I may be supportive of reservation based on financial and social backwardness, only if implemented carefully. There is no hard and fast rule that person from a higher caste can't be poor or backward.

In the existing reservation system also I think that there should be some rules that only one generation is allowed to use the Reservation quota or if we think that one will not be enough to lift there backwardness make it two generations. What I wanted to say was if father uses the quota and his son/daughter uses it, no quota should be allowed for his grand sons/daughters. Two generations I think are enough to lift a person out of backwardness. Right now what is happening is same family keeps using the quota for all there generations and the person who really needs the quota is not getting it. Thee may be many cons for this system also, but we need to start thinking about how to get the quota to the person who really needs it.

As I said earlier I am opposed to all sorts of reservation including based on gender but seeing the low representation of Women MP's in Parliament it may be required. The bill is passed but I have some reservations about it.
The first is the 33% quota should also be applied to the 22.5% quota for SC/ST's as it makes no sense to not give quotas for Women in SC/ST's also, as it is where it is needed most.
Second is instead of giving 33% at one time it should have been staggered. For eg. may be 11% every 5 years. There are many women leaders and it will take time for them to come forward and take this responsibility.
The thing I am most worried about is it shouldn't happen that now wife, daughters, and other female relatives of a male politician starts getting the tickets and winning elections. This way it won't server any purpose at all.
The Reservation is there for 15 years and a proper discussion should happen after 15 years whether it is really required before extending it. Not like SC/ST quota which is extended for 15 years every time.

My name is Khan and I copy Forrest Gump

Just saw the trailer of the movie My name is khan and the way Sharukh Khan speaks sounds exactly similar to Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump. Talk of inspiration.

Will wait for the movie to find out more :)

Idiocracy

Question- Which is the thing that is available most abundantly on the planet?
Answer- No, Its not Air or Water. The answer is Idiocy.

No, I didn't got the idea of writing this after watching 3 Idiots but after seeing many idiots fighting over how much 3 Idiots is inspired/lifted from Five point Someone.

Consider the statements from the Idiots err. gentlemen below-

Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Shouting at a journalist not to say anything if he has not read the novel. He forgot that Aamir khan said some time back that he also has not read the novel but is giving quotes at all the interviews.

Aamir khan, saying only 3-5% of movie is inspired from the novel. (He said in previous statement that he has not read the novel). I can't still fathom how to find out how much percentage of the movie is inspired without reading the novel. But its not as difficult for Aamor, ask Vidhu Vinod Chopra may be ?

Aamir Khan, saying Chetan Bhagat is hungry for publicity. Consider the fact that he was around the tour of India in disguise for publicising his movie. (Before some idiot says Aamir doesn't require any publicity let me add that he is the once doing all kind of weird but good publicity for his movies)

RajKumar Hirani- The great director that he is, he is also a good speaker. he suggests that they should sue Chetan Bhagat for defamation. Sue him if you should but please give the judge the edited copy of 3 idiots which is half an hour long, the maximum that is not copied from the novel :)

All said from this Idiot let me add that the movie is really very good and a master piece from RajKumar Hirani. Please watch it.....

Addition to the Original Post:

When a movie is made out of a novel there is bound to be some changes in the screenplay.
Anybody who makes a movie out of novel have some reasons for it one of which is they will get a ready made basic plot and second good publicity about the movie. Later they change the story as required so that it works well for the movie. You can’t imagine the same done to a JRR Tolkien, JK Rowling, Dan Brown, Robert Ludlum etc as they have very strong copyright laws in there part of world.
Previously when Hello was made from 'One night at the call center' they made CB as co-script writer as it was made by a small production company and they needed all the help and publicity they can get, so they did all the effort to publicize that its inspired from a CB novel.
But in case of 3 Idiots produced by a big and well funded production house under VV Chopra, they have good number of writers at there disposal including the superbly talented Raj Kumar Hirani.
CB did a mistake(and I think he realized it later) by signing the contract giving the rights for his novel and a name display at the end of the movie, probably he didn’t realise that after the 3 Idiots script was ready he won’t be credited at all.

In case of 3 idiots everybody who has seen the movie knows atleast that it is inspired from a novel. The producer didn't need CB to publicise for there movie, already having Aamir Khan and Munnabhai director at there disposal. They have put CB name at the end of the movie only because of the contract and I don't think CB would have been able to do anything if VV Chopra had made the movie without crediting him at all. I think CB should have been more careful before signing the contract instead of complaining of not giving him due credit later.

You cannot please everyone

Long time ago lived a father and son. They were very poor with there only source of income coming from there donkey which they used to transfer goods of the villagers from one place to another in lieu of some flour or eatables. That was barely enough for them and there donkey and three of them were frequently going without meal.

Life was somehow going on for them in acute poverty when they heard the news that in a far off town there king was building a castle and was buying donkeys at very high price for transporting the building materials.

Father thought that they can sell there donkey there, work there for some days as a labourer, and with the money saved they can start a business. Atleast they can have two good meals everyday.

Thinking this the father and his son got ready for there long journey. They packed whatever small amount of food they had and started there journey. They walked sometime with there donkey when they reached a small village. There one man saw them and commented loudly to his wife, "what fools they are, They have a donkey still they are walking on foot". Father thought that what they are saying is true so he sat on the donkey while his son was walking.

They moved further when another man saw them and told to father,"What cruel father are you, your son is walking and you are sitting on the donkey". The father felt ashamed and got down and asked his son to sit on the donkey. They again started moving forward when a kid said to the son,"you are young and sitting on the donkey and making your old father walk. Shame on you". Thinking what to do now, both of them sat on the donkey and started again.

They came out of the village to a field when a shepherd saw them and said, "What kind of human are you putting so much load on the donkey. It must be tired now. Give some rest to the donkey also". The father and son confused now what to do carried the donkey on there shoulders and started walking towards the river. They were crossing the river when they slipped on the mud and dropped the donkey which was washed away in the river.

Moral of the story: How much you try you can not please everyone. No matter what you do, there will always be some people who do not like it.

My first

I went to see Dostana some days back. Its the story about two Guys who come to see an apartment for rent, they liked the apartment but came to know that since it was to be shared with a girl they can’t get it. So, they lied to be gays to the lanlord and the girl to get it. But later in the film they fell in love with the same girl, but she is in love with some other guy. So they do all funny and idiotic things to break there relationship. But finally the girl comes to know about there plans, when they plead for forgiveness, she asks the two guys to kiss each other in front of everybody for her to forgive them. They hesitate at first but finally kiss each other in the climax. At that time one thought came to my mind and I looked around and saw some people in shock, some people laughing with expression as “How can anybody do this”. Some just surprised. One guys has particularly no expression on his face which made me to think that may be he has done this many times beforeJ.

This reminded me of my good old college ragging days. We were made to do many things during our ragging period that many can't imagine of. Even when I think of it now I can’t believe that I did all those things in my college. But again I always want to go back to those days and live that life again. There was one particular incident during my ragging that I avoid discussing.

I joined my college and ragging started full time from the first day itself. Perhaps our senior believed too much in the saying of Kabir, ”kal karey so aaj kar , aaj karey so ab”. The seniors are so creative in finding new ways of ragging, Perhaps they exhaust all there ideas in the college days itself and leave nothing for the future. If they would have shown the same creativity in there job everybody must have been scientists by now. There were many things that we did as a part of Ragging or was done to us, but that I will discuss in some other blog. There was one incident which is worth mentioning separately.

It all happened late in the night one day when we just returned from a ragging session and were getting ready for sleep when a senior came to our room and shouted at us,”kya be tum log ko jyada neend aa raha hai kya, chal us room se baaki teen ko lekar mere room main aa jayo tum saare”. I thought another round of ragging now, but what will they do now? They have probably exhausted everything that can be done to a human being. Anyways thinking I went to the other room and told other three guy to come to the seniors room. One of them commented,”saalon ko bina ragging kiye neend nahin aata hai, khud to sota nahin aur apne ko bhi sone nahin deta, chal pata nahin aaj kya karega saala”.
I would like to mention here that before this incident I started kinda liking it, means ragging. It was sort of fun (only when done on somebody else :)). It was a good timepass, got slapped many times but it was ok. You only feel the first slap after that you think, just slap me and get over with it.

So we went to that seniors room took permission to enter and stood in front of him. There was one senior in that room who always asked me to sing in front of him and I always sang the same song. That day also he asked me to sing a song and I started singing the same song when he slapped me tight saying "saale main sunte sunte bore ho gaya lekin tu gaate gaate bore nahin hua, sui atak gaya hai kya tera, ja side main jakar chair ban ja"(This means you should sit on a chair only there will be no chair below you, very painful , if you ask me, if made to sit for more than 1 min).
The second guy came and was asked to name five condoms brand. The guy was able to say only two and was slapped three times and the senior shouted "saale condom ka brand bhi nahin pata family planning kya khak karega, ja tu bhi chair ban ja". The senior looked around for some answers and I thought shit, even I don’t know more than two and looked at the other side. He looked at me and said,”abe muuh kya ghuma raha hai nahin aata hai to, tujhe baad main dekhta huun”. I need to admin that these seniors become damn smart when they are doing ragging. Perhaps the power brings smartness. Everybody came one by one and got slapped depending on the 'sins' he committed at that time.

Rab ne bana di jodi hai......

Saw Rab ne bana di jodi in PVR today. Wanted to watch it for a long time but it always got postponed due to some or other reasons. And the high PVR ticket prices was not at all helpful in making me go sooner. With so high ticket prices its always better to find out how the movie is before going. Before you start giving dialogues such as I should go and decide for myself how the movie is listen to the valuable lesson I have learnt in past few years after wasting so much money watching the first day shows of movies such as Kisna, Tajmahal, james, Taal, Shiva, D, Darna jaroori hai, Darna mana hai, Hello, Heroes, Just married and many more. So I try to find out how a movie is before booking the tickets and always watch the movie after its first week of running thinking if the movie ran for one week atleast it will be ok.

Ecstasic Udaipur

"Kathikda Calling” showed ,when I pulled the mobile lazily from my pocket and I thought here starts again, The Hindi speaking training for him. Anyways I picked the phone, unlike him, and the first thing I hear is Karhtik da shouting, “Thambi, do you want to go to Udaipur?”.I thought why would I want to go to Udaipur at all of all the places that i can go, what sort of question is this and asked in one breath “What? How? When? Why?”.
Then he started explaining that Debu da’s team Oracle Direct was going to Udaipur that year for there yearly team outing.
If you don’t know about this or shocked to hear that how any team in any company can go so much far to Udaipur for a team outing, let me explain it before continuing further. I don't know for your company, but my company never went out of Bangalore for an outing. Debu da used to work in oracle(I am not saying that he used to work there. He never worked.Simply speaking he was an employee there. I will write a separate blog about the non working of oracle employees but that will be coming later) in a team called Oracle Direct. It was said by other Oracle employees in my our house that there team was the largest revenue generator in Oracle and to appreciate this fact every year they used to go to a good, exotic and finest location for there team outing. For example to places like Maldives, Thailand, Malaysia etc. This time they were going to Udaipur generally called as the city of lakes or the venice of east(Don't ask me why, I did not give this name). The best part was all the team members can take one other person with him. So a married person can take his family and others can take there friends/girl friends etc. So lets get back to the story again.
So the problem was that Debu da was in US at that time and so was not able to co-ordinate who will go with him. He first asked Karthik da, but he said no as he had some release at that time (People in our home say that Karthik da works only for one month in whole 12 months of an year and yes you got it right, it was his working month at the time of the trip). Manish bhaiya was not in India at that time so I became the most eligible. So Karthik da called me to find out whether I am interested to go to this trip to Udaipur. I had my doubts so i thought better to clear all of them first. Obviously the first question I asked was how much I will be spending for this trip. My second question was how are they planning to go there. Karthik da told me that we will fly from Bangalore to Mumbai and then to Udaipur and return the same way. I thought we even have an airport in Udaipur, cool. And then came the next bombshell when karthik da told me that we were going to stay in Taj lake Palace in Udaipur. In all my life I have never been inside any hotel with name starting with Taj and I always had the impression that any hotel name which starts with Taj must be good. I thought that this may be the time in which not only will I enter the hotel but stay there also. The trip was for 4 days and 3 nights. Since getting 4 days leave was never a problem in Tavant(It was problem only when you ask for 2 weeks leave and you will get a reply as if company will close if you are not there for 2 weeks) so I replied, yes I am coming.

Death magnetic

I was just listening to the song Unforgiven III in the new Metallica album ‘Death Metallica’. Ofcourse the lyrics are pretty hard to understand when you are listening to the song so I went to a site and searched for its lyrics. Read the lyrics and you can feel the deep meaning it has. I had the habit from college to listen to metallica songs with the lyrics window open. Believe me it changes the way you like the song. Go to a site and search for the lyrics of Nothing else matters, Unforgiven I , Unforgiven II, Fade to Black and you will know what I am trying to say. But its not for the light hearted as most of them talks about death and hopelessness and etc. I admit that I don’t listen to many english songs only I keep repeating some songs. Below are the some oneliners from the lyrics which I like the most. I will keep updating it-

  • How can I be lost, if I've got nowhere to go?And how can I blame you, when it's me I can't forgive?
  • New blood joins this earth. And quickly he's subdued. Through constant pained disgrace. The young boy learns their rules.
  • Never opened myself this way. Life is ours, we live it our way. All these words I don't just say. And nothing else matters.
  • No one but me can save myself, but it's too late. No, I can't think, think why I should even try. Yesterday seems as though it never existed. Death Greets me warm, now I will just say goodbye.
  • Hold me now. I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking. That maybe six feet. Ain't so far down
  • Was he the one causing pain. With his careless. dreaming? Been afraid .Always afraid. Of the things he's feeling.
  • His sinking life. Outside it's hell. Inside, intoxication.
  • What is Democracy? It has something to do with killing each other.
  • I can't remember anything. Can't tell if this. s true or dream .Deep down inside I feel to scream .This terrible silence stops me

Add if you want to .....

Windows VS. Linux

Well no technical article in my blog so i thought i will write one. Its not exactly technical but it feels nice to call it one. Actually its not at all technical, its just a general observation from my side excluding the technical specifications.
From some time i have started seeing this trend of putting windows insulting message in the Yahoo or Gtalk messenger status bar. Some being "You moved your mouse, please restart for this to take effect" or "failure is not an option -- it comes bundled with Windows". There are lots of them to choose from if you just search for it in google. This made me to think is Windows really that bad? Or is Linux really that better?
This days it has become a fashion to Ridicule Windows OS. It is like loving to hate Windows OS. Many of them feel that if they work in Linux they will be considered more technically stronger than when they work on Windows. You put the status message in the messenger and let the world know that you have learnt Linux now or atleast pretend that you have and you are not an ordinary Windows user anymore. And then you will make sure that somehow you start the Windows vs. Linux debate in any general conversations and support Linux so that you can show your superiority. And if this is not enough when you will get a chance to work on Windows any time and your doing a simple copy and paste using ctrl+c and ctrl+v you will shout loudly so that everybody can hear, that its so difficult to do anything in Windows, in Linux it is sooo easy and i am tired of this Windows stuff. And whenever you need to restart windows for some changes to take effect or some device to get installed you will cry that this is the problem with Windows it needs to be retsarted everytime. Windows hangs for some reason and you will give react as the world has fallen apart saying this is the problem with Windows, not at all stable.
What i think that there is one simple thing that makes the difference in popularity of all the products. I am only talking about popularity here. Once anybody creates a product they can have two basic design ideas. First is I will make the product in the way the customer wants to use it. And the second philosophy is I will make the product as I want it to be used by the customer. The thing to note here is that even the first idea will not work always as even the customer sometimes doesn't know what he/she wants. I think it takes a Genius to make the second idea working. I mean its really hard to make a product which you want to be used in a particular way and it may not be the same way as the customer wants to use it and it becomes a hit. Just apply this ideas to Windows or Linux or any other product and you will know why any product is more popular.

My blog My thoughts My idea

These are the collections of some funny and good remarks that came out of my mouth. Its not like these are the only one, there are lots of them but i don't remember. So here it goes-
  1. I was sleeping one night when Kisna bhaiya came to me, woke me up and said "Tujhe pata hai kya ki tu ekdum Abhishek bachhan ki tarah dikhta hai". And i replied "Main Abhishek Bachhan ki tarah nahin woh meri tarah dikhta hai". Kisna Bhaiya went to the other room without saying a single word and i slept again.
  2. This is one sentence i use a lot of time - Mere paas time pass/waste karne ke liye ekdum time nahin hai.
  3. This is one i use when somebody insults me - Ek to insult kiya aur woh bhi mera.
  4. Once me an Pandey were somehere, when Pandey saw an ad of Fair and Handsome and said to me,"tu bhi yeh kharid le" and i replied,"abe mujhe iski jaroorat nahin hai kyun ki main fair bhi huun aur handsome bhi".
  5. Once me and Sudip went to a marriage party and got lots of sweets for the Snacks. I finsihed all of them somehow when Sudip asked me,"abe mera mithai bhi kha le be" and I replied, "Sher kabhi mithai khata hai kya"
  6. Samay aur Ashish kisi ke liye nahin rukta.
  7. Yeh jab mujhe koi sote time disturb karta hai aur bolta hai ki uth ja .. mera jawab "abe pahle sone to de phir uthunga na" Another one is sleep and let sleep (Live and let live)
  8. This one is really original "Samay aur Ashish kisi ke liye nahi rukhe"
Well this are the ones that i remember for now and i will keep on updating it.

AN IDEA CAN CHANGE OUR LIFE

What's with the IDEA ads anyway? It always touches me deeply. There is new ad come on TV which shows an unique idea of spreading education to all far flung villages.

The ad starts with a village men coming to a school to get her daughter admitted. But the school peon throws them out saying that the admission is full and no space is available. Abhishek bachhan who is the principal there sees this and wonders how to teach everybody in a single class. And then the IDEA strikes him. He invents Mobile education where each village will have mobiles for a group of students. The actual classroom will have the same number of mobiles in which the teacher will speak. So the students in village will feel in a way that they are sitting in a classroom.

Though some may say that its practically not feasible and IDEA should have spent the money in doing something good instead of creating this ad. What i feel that an IDEA is always better than lakhs or crores of rupees which hits you hard and forces you to think about it. IDEA may have just spent the money the spent on making the ad on some educational movement, but now they have forcred many people to think about this the same way i am thinking.
True it's just a business and they are just trying to make profits, but the only good thing they are doing is forcing us to think in there way to make profits.

TRUE, WHAT AND IDEA SIR JI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

inequaltiy is equaltiy

Well, i wanted from a very long time to write something like this. Below are some of my observations about , well you will know when you read below. Well its not like it is true for all of them but i can be sure of one thing ,for majority of them it will be true. Anyways its my blog so i can write anything :) and before you start shouting there is always comments section if you know what its for-

  1. When a girl says yes it means no and when she says no it means yes . When she says yes sometimes it may mean yes and sometimes no, when she says no sometimes it may mean no and sometimes yes . When she doesn't say anything it may mean both yes or no, and she only does that to see what you do and blast you after that(In this case even god can't save you) . Confused, i don't think any single living man soul will not be confused, So let me tell you what to do. Remember one god you believe the most and do a "Akkad bakkad bambe boo, Assi nabbe pure sou" and select between yes and no.If your prayer was true then god will save you from her fury. And haan if you don't believe in god and by any chance your Akkad bakkad bambe boo went wrong even god can't save you.
  2. This is a theory invented by me and proved many times by others-: The stability in a group of friends depends on the ratio of boys to girl in the group. If the ratio is just equal to 1 the group is just stable and the ratio more higher than one more the group is stable. And by god's grace if the ratio is less than 1 meaning number of girls are more than the number of boys then be prepared to loose your nights sleep and days rest. Its just like an uncontrolled nuclear reaction it will spread and spread until my theory is satisfied , for some fools who don't understand, it means that till the number of girls are lesser than boys. I have the most unlucky chance of experiencing it myself many times, well that is another story altogether and i will write it when i get the guts to do so.
  3. I think of all of us, the mobile phone is best used by the girls. Obviously it's quite useful in some situations. This theory is again invented by me from careful observation over a long period of time. You will never see a girl walking alone , i mean you can see a girl walking alone but you will never see a girl walking alone without being on phone. I extend this to you will never see a girl alone without being on phone, obviously when they are not in office or home. when they are in cab sitting alone or walking from main road to reach home or just a stroll to reach office they are always talking. (updated on 23 may 2008)
  4. The girl will always try to prove that she has not done any makeup and looks beautiful naturally even without any makeup even if she has spent 2 hours in front of an mirror before coming out of the house.Nobody knows why can't they simply agree with it.But well if it is with a girl it can't be simpler. There is an unconfirmed report that one lady started getting ready from 9.00 clock in the morning for the new year party which was supposed to start at 11.00 clock at night.Anyways the main point is everybody knows that they are lying including them so they have come out with a new plan. I went to a get together last weekend and suddenly out of blue one girl asks me, what make up i have done before coming. Shocked, surprised i looked at their faces, fresh just out of bath, properly brushed or whatever and i touch my face and its all sweaty. All the girls started laughing saying that today's boys do more make up than girls. I don't know about others but all make up i have done my whole life is a Fair and handsome cream and Axe deo that too only after bath. I was frustrated and in that frustration got a new point for this blog.(Updated on 16th July'2008)
  5. Tubelight girls : Have you ever made a joke to a girl or made any funny humorous remark in front of her or told any pj to her. Then you will know what i am talking about. I will tell you the exact reaction you will get. You tell the joke to a girl, she looks at you for some time. Then comes the condition, some may ask you that she didn't get the joke and then you go on explain her and kill all the fun of it.Others will just laugh without any idea of what the joke meant.I have lots of examples to prove this but i will just give two of them. There is new show called "nach ke dikha" where there is a dance competition between girls and boys group. I watched the show some days back and saw that the boys were making some funny remarks on the girls and they were having difficulty understanding. There was always a gap and then they used to laugh. Even the show judge Malaika Arrora khan had the same problem. The cameraman was trying to hide it but it was clearly visible. And the second one is one day me, Pandey and other friend were wandering around when we saw a girl driving and made the comment "If you are scared of women driving then get off the pavement". As obvious she didn't understand and we spend half and hour explaining to her that your gender is a bad driver. (Updated 17th July'2008)
  6. If you are scared of women driving then get off the pavement : This title too is self explanatory. Just some time back i went out of office for tea and saw that a lady was trying to park her car. She was trying do it for 5 minutes but clearly her huge efforts were not paying of. A security guard saw this and came to help her, he went to back of the car and was instructed her when to turn the steering left and right. Everything was going fine until the lady got excited and went back too much fast and almost crushed the guard in the wall. The guard moved just in time and came out very scared. I started laughing , the guard saw me and joined too. The lady threw us a angry look and went away. So if you want to live longer then follow some basic rules as i do. If you are driving and see a car trailing you with girl driving it go away from it as soon as possible, if she is asking for pass , give her as soon as possible(You can be cent percent sure that she doesn't know which side to overtake from, so plan accordingly). If a girl is driving and you are thinking of overtaking her, forget it immediately as you don't know which side she will go the moment you try to overtake her and hit you. And last if you are walking and see a girl driving just pray to god even if you or on a footpath , because then the only safe place is the sky.(Updated 17th July'2008)
  7. Computer skills -
  8. I don't know how many of you will believe me but a girl just asked me when we were on the escalator going to Inox, What will she do if the escalator stops suddenly?

Well that's all i can think of now, but i will add more from time to time. In the mean time give your comments also, may be i will add it :)

Only if.......

It was only four days since she had left and he was already feeling mixed emotions of anger , irritation, sadness and many more which obviously can't be described in writing. But he thought that if you look at it as a whole and combine everything together the main feeling was of sadness. He was sad.

He didn't know why he was sad and didn't want to be sad. The evening of the first day and rest of the second day went of fine and normal. He was talking to her many times after he dropped her at railway station, It was the third day, he started feeling irritated when she was not picking her numerous calls and simply sent an sms that she is slightly busy talking with her relatives and wouldn't be able to pick up his calls and we will talk on sms. So that day passed with all of her sms replies in mono and bi syllables till he exhausted all his questions and then stopped sending it. It was the fourth day when he started feeling angry as she was not replying to his sms also, forget about calls. He had a heated argument with his manager that day on some small issue instead of him knowing well that it was his mistake not his managers that he has not completed his work. But he couldn't help it, his manager came at the wrong time for pointing out that he has not finished his work and others are waiting for him to finish so they can start. But completing the work was the last thing on his mind today.

He left for home at that time and regretted it the moment he reached home. He was feeling very angry as why can't she talk to him or at least send a sms. He called her again and her cell was switched off now. Suddenly he felt very sad, He never felt like this ever before in his life, even when he left his home for the first time to go to college or came out of college to take a job. He didn't knew and was not able to understand why he felt like that, some thing was wrong or may be right.

He met her exactly nine months before and didn't liked her much at that time. She was almost as same as all the other girls are. Proud, slightly arrogant , somewhat show off and many such other things which obviously many will know (obviously only boys :) ). And also at that time he felt that there was also something very attractive and unique about her. He didn’t know what it was but guessed that may be it was in the way she talked or in the way she listened to him or may be in the way she laughed at his bad jokes or got angry at the use of foul words from him or the way she reacted to him sometimes (as if what he is saying is worth nothing or sometimes gave her whole hearted support to his argument even when it was not correct).May be this was why he wanted to see her more , meet her more , talk to her more, but that time he was not sure of the reason. He has met many girls before and it never happened like this. He took her id from her friend and started sending her mails and in every mail thinking to ask about her number but never had the courage to do so. Then on fine day feeling very scared and thinking of the number of ways she would tell no, he asked for her number. He was suprpised and shocked to get her reply with her phone number and with a small note saying that she was wondering that why didn’t he asked for the number before. He felt slightly jealous thinking that how many boys have asked her number before like this. He started calling her keeping a note of how many times he is calling her and how many times she is calling her back. Slowly from once a week to twice a week it reached to twice or thrice everyday. It seemed like talking on phone so many times was also not enough for finishing there talk and he began to think of asking her out for dinner or may be a movie. He was sure that she gave some hints that she also wanted to meet but she never asked him directly about this. He began thnking on how to ask her out and again thought of the numerous possibilities in which she can say no. But there was a bigger problem than this, Whether to ask her out for movie or for dinner or for both. And it came to him that better ask her out for movie and even if they don’t talk much atleast they can watch movie, being silent otherwise will look very odd, sitting in a restaurant without talking to each other. So first problem solved he came to think of the second problem. No matter how much and how many times he tried he was not able to ask her out. After some time deciding that she can’t aske her out while talking , the sms came to his rescue. He wanted to send a mail first but thought that in the mail she will have lots of space to write why she will not come, but in sms she can only say no. So he sent her sms and she came for movie and after they had dinner together and after that spent a lot of time in a coffee parlour and after that he dropped her home. Soon it became like they were old child hood friends sharing everything , going everywhere together and spending most of the time with each other.

Howrah Railway Station

He got down at the crowded Howrah Railway Station feeling very bored at around 11.30 in the morning. His next train was at 5.00 in evening. At that time there was no separate station for Southern Railways.

He really enjoyed travelling in train but this time was very irritated. First there was no water in the train and he spent more water in bathroom than for drinking. Then there was a toddler in his compartment who decided that he/she (He still was confused) would not sleep for the whole journey. He/She kept crying shouting and making some voices (dont know what to call that) all the time.He had the lower birth this time so was part of all the action that the baby's papa and mummy did to silent him/her. He was not sure but felt some two three drops of water (or whatever it was on his face) and was not able to sleep after that.

He went to the Cloak room lazily and deposited his luggage there. Though not much time was left for his train he thought of wandering the station and hoped that the next train should not be like this. He went and got some magazine and read it for some time with tea but was not able to do it as he was tired of seating for the whole journey and started roaming around. He went to the Howrah bridge spent some time there, took a whole round of the very crowded station and came back to platform number 3 where a train had just come . He saw a husband wife and there daughter on the door of the compartment getting down. The little girl got down first and closed her nose with her hand and told to her mother loudly "Oh maa ki gondho". At that time suddenly he went to the girl bent down and told the girl with surprised glare from her mother and father "Aita gondha na aita Durgandho"

For You On Women's Day

I went to Big bazaar yesterday and somebody handed me a pamphlet saying lots of discounts available for 3 days on accassion of Women's day . I thought why is this Women’s day is celebrated and thought that there will be some time when there will be no need to celebrate it. Or we will celebrate it but as a day for celebrating the women hood and not for reminding us that they are equal to us and have all the rights to follow there dreams.

So just I was thinking I remembered a lot of women around me who have sacrificed many things sometimes there dreams for the person they love respect. This may not be enough but below is my respcet for all of them-

I respect the girls who sacrificed there studies only because there was only that much money to educate her brother.

I respect the girls who finished her studies inspite of all the hardships given by all.

I respect the gilrs who didn’t continue her studies or joined a job as there parents wanted to get them married .

I respect the girls who continued there studies and joined jobs inspite of all opposition.

I respect the girls who dropped from the job because there better half wanted them to do so.

I respect them who continued who continued doing the dual work of home and office.

I respect all the womens who sacrificed there dream because she wanted the dreams of her lived ones to come true.

I respect all of them who achieved there dreams with making sure that the dreams of her loved ones are also fullfilled.

I hope a day will come when everybody will have the equal rights and oppurtunities to achieve there dreams.

Dekh tum log ki wajah se koi ladki mujhe bhi nahin dekh rahi hai..

What and IDEA sir ji

Few days back i was watching TV when i saw the news of Rioting in Orissa. Riots started at the time of Christmas. Lots of people were killed and Churches torched.
I thought what is happening to people this days. How can people kill somebody in the name of religion. I started flipping channel randmly and stopped on a channel which was showing IDEA's new AD with the caption "Sir ji , What an Idea Sir ji".
The AD basically was about a village in which there was a huge fight between the two communities.
When everybody goes to Abhsihek Bachhan, shown as the Mukhiya of the village. He gets a call on his IDEA phone and comes with a unique idea that from now on, nobody will be known by his name and only be known by his number in the village . Letters are delivered to a number , voting is done for a number. After this the situation changes suddenly, The fighting stops and everybody is happy.
The AD ends with a villager telling Abhsihek bachhan "what an idea Sir ji".
Suddenly a thought comes to my mind , if the same thing can be done here all the riotings , killing on the name of religion will stop.

Timelessness

"Sonu wake up !! you need to go for a haircut today" ..Mummy shouted from the top of her voice. I completely ignored Mummy ..took the blanket and slept again… I had the habit of never waking up in the first wake up call. (Which I am maintaining till now)..

Mummy shouted again “Sonu wakeup its already 4 , you will be late otherwise”. I said irritated “its to early, I will go at seven”. Mummy replied “No, we will go now, it will be too crowded at 7 and I have lots of work to do unlike you”. I said "what?, i also have lots of work to do. I need to go to school, study and etc." (I thought i made a good use of word etc.,I like this word:) )

Then i realized Mummy is also coming with me and got up in a shock “Why are you coming with me for a haircut, I can go alone, no need for you to come”. “No, I will come with you that ‘Nai’ [Barber] is not making your hair shorter, I can’t send you twice a month for having haircut it costs very much”. I said “what?, it costs only 5 rupees and i am having my haircut perfectly fine, If I make it more shorter my friends will ask me if I am in a sainik school”. I completely ignored the fact that it was me who was forcing the Nai to not make my hair shorter even after him telling me that your mummy will get angry if I don’t make your hair shorter.I told the Nai that I will go to some other shop if he makes my hair more shorter than what i tell him. The nai happened to be a part time worker in my papa’s department. ”I am coming with you ,now get ready fast” Mummy told as if she didn’t heard a single word from me.

I got up and thought while brushing ‘heck why we are going for a haircut so early’ Then I thought may be before going to school I can have my haircut, anyways my hair were very long and I was sure that without haircut i will stand outside the assembly as a punishment today.Mummy shouted from other room "Take one biscuit packet from Kitchen, I will make some thing when we come back"."I cant have anything so early, we will have chats in the market". I shouted while brushing. Mummy replied "I am not going to buy anything, have biscuit if you want otherwise don't start shouting in the market" I brushed my teeth, got ready slowly, took one biscuit packet from Kitchen(something is better than nothing) and went outside and asked Mummy again”why are we going so early we can go later na ” She didn’t replied.

We started and after some time I saw some boys playing in the field and thought how come they are playing so early. I asked mummy and she replied that everybody is not like me who sleeps so late. I thought , what? I woke up at 4 today.

We went further and saw a group of students coming back from tuition and I felt really very shameful that I am waking up so late and everybody wakes up so early and goes to tuition. I never thought that all the places will be so lively at that time.

We got further and suddenly I realized that it is getting darker instead of getting brighter and i thought how this can happen and then it came to my mind that its not morning and I woke up at 4.00 clock in the afternoon J

PAN PASAND

I think i was in class 6 or 7 when our new canteen wala started selling this new chocolate Pan pasand in the school canteen. There was a very good ad which used to come in DD -1 at that time, i think they stopped selling this now. Never found this in any shop after completing school :(.It used to cost 25p paise at that time. Somebody gave it to me once (rather i took it from him) and i liked it very very much. But at that time there was no daily pocket money for me and was meant to be given only in some festivals. So eating Pan pasand was restricted only when some of my friends gave me (they became very good friends once they gave me) or when i used to get(take) some chillars from the Pooja or when my mummy/papa gave me some when looking at my innocent(crying) face. (I got so many things using that innocent/crying face. Now after so many years i am never able to make that same face again)

And one fine day in the 2nd period one back bencher came to me (he used to sit in the last bench and me in 2nd last:) ) and told me that his friend (used to sit with him) has told that if i give my science notes (i was supposed to be very good in science, in fact good in all the subjects) he will give me 10 pan pasand. I looked at his friend and saw that his expression was as if he will pass the exam only if he gets my notes (i should tell that his fail percentage was more than his pass %). I was in a dilemma what to do . Even if he would have asked directly for the notes i would have given him and thought of telling him that you can take the notes without giving anything. (thinking that he will thrust some pan pasand in my hands as appreciation of my good deed). But 10 pan pasand was too much for me and my greediness gave in and i said ok . I gave my notes to him and he went back to the pan pasand (back bencher) guy, had a small talk and came back and gave me 8 saying he will give 2 tomorrow. I thought of taking my notes back thinking how can he do that. Anything else i would have agreed but two pan pasand..... But again i never had more that 2 pan pasand at a time in one day so i thought 8 is ok...somehow i will manage..
I had one instantly and thought of having 3 more today and keeping 4 for tomorrow. But keeping pan pasand in my pocket was really tough and i ended up sharing one with another of my friend (Nobody shoud have a friend like him, saala he took my pan pasand).
So i got scared and had two one after other. That time the lunch bell rung and i went outside and to my bad luck one sir caught me and asked "are you a girl why have you put lipstick?" I was like how can he tell that.(At that time getting compared to a girl was too much a insult for me, I think can say the same thing about getting compared to a girl now also.No offence to anybody:)) I told him i had pan pasand that's why my lips are red. He took me to the staff room and shouted in front of all the teachers "see this guy has applied lipstick, go and wash you face". Everybody started laughing anfd i ran to the bathroom but only washed my lips in revolt and not face. Now again i went to class had one came to bathroom washed my lips .. went to class had one and again came to bath...
So i had all of them praying to god that hope he will need some notes again tomorrow........

P.S. - for those who are wondering i never got my 2 due pan pasand :(
