For You On Women's Day

I went to Big bazaar yesterday and somebody handed me a pamphlet saying lots of discounts available for 3 days on accassion of Women's day . I thought why is this Women’s day is celebrated and thought that there will be some time when there will be no need to celebrate it. Or we will celebrate it but as a day for celebrating the women hood and not for reminding us that they are equal to us and have all the rights to follow there dreams.

So just I was thinking I remembered a lot of women around me who have sacrificed many things sometimes there dreams for the person they love respect. This may not be enough but below is my respcet for all of them-

I respect the girls who sacrificed there studies only because there was only that much money to educate her brother.

I respect the girls who finished her studies inspite of all the hardships given by all.

I respect the gilrs who didn’t continue her studies or joined a job as there parents wanted to get them married .

I respect the girls who continued there studies and joined jobs inspite of all opposition.

I respect the girls who dropped from the job because there better half wanted them to do so.

I respect them who continued who continued doing the dual work of home and office.

I respect all the womens who sacrificed there dream because she wanted the dreams of her lived ones to come true.

I respect all of them who achieved there dreams with making sure that the dreams of her loved ones are also fullfilled.

I hope a day will come when everybody will have the equal rights and oppurtunities to achieve there dreams.

And you're quite right here.

Another thing which I can't resist from pointing out that Big Bazaar probably found a good opportunity to put its items on discount and increase its sale. But look at it closely, not a single women would have benifitted from it - of course, apart from those who took advantage of the sale, and which is no way important.
Instead of putting a discount on the items, Big Bazaar could better make a promise that a certain percentage from of the amount you spend will be spent for women's welfare, or for child girl's education.
If Big Bazaar offerred a 10% discount on something, it could probably better have donated the same 10% for awomen or a girl child welfare programme. It would have meant the same for BB in either way.
Yes, but it would have not meant the same for consumers, as they won't get discounts, and there would have been lesser turnout of customers. But if you are thinking of welfare, then customer turnouts matters less. Even if it was the similar to the daily turnout, many women who need support would have got some support at least. Don't you agree?
At the end of day, BB spent a lot in advertising its products and offerred some discount saying "See, I care for women, so I have reduced my rates specially for them!".. but women who actually availed the discounts probably didn't need it at all!

And this is not the matter with BB only. Every one of us is doing the same thing.

We as a citizen of our country wish that we lived in US or Europe, because our country is not like the US or the Europe. But we seldom realize that things won't change unless we start thinking beyond ourselves.

That's true, for Big Bazaar it was only a marketing oppurtunity same as Archies or others which promote this days only to earn a handomse profit. The best way for us is to make sure that this things dont happen in our families. I always used to worry that why they are not teaching there daughter or not allowing her to work, then i decided that instead of telling others i will make sure that this things doesn't happen in my family.
